About Me

Why Blog?

Why not? This is my first blog. I began it to help me keep track of memories for myself, and I hope it helps us share our lives with our friends and family better. Since I will never be a scrapbook pro this is my alternative. I love seeing the memories line up in chronological order. They take up very little space here on the web, and I love organizing. Plus, I have a horrible memory, so without blogging these stories would most likely be lost forever. Over time, I expect that being able to go back and view posts will remind us how much we love the life that we have together.

"There's Joy in the Journey"

Indeed there is. Over the past ten years that Calvin and I have been together, there has definitely been a journey. A journey of growing up together past late college nights and into the 10:30 bedtime stage of adulthood, we set dreams together, watched them come into fruition, changed them, and learned as we went along. We are now in the best place we've ever been, and as the years pile up I hope that sentence never changes. That the "now" continues to be the best. As I was looking for a blog title I popped in one of my favorite bands and flipped though the songs that played. One of my favorite songs of all time is sung by Mercy Me. The song title is On my way to you. The first verse of the song is where I pulled this blog title from. It says "Almost there, almost where I'm supposed to be. It's not all clear, but you keep showing me. With every step, the more my heart moves to your beat. Just like where I'm headed, there's joy in the journey." There's a link above to view this song on You Tube if you're not aware of it. Really each line in this song speaks to my soul. It's a wonderful prayer that I sing often, and I know Calvin and I both pray that the Lord will "Teach us to think like He thinks, show us the way that is true, and finish the work He has started in us."

My two favorite guys.

Our beautiful daughter.
